TEEN CAMP
Ages 12 ~ 19
June 9 ~ 13
Monday~Friday 10 a.m. ~ 3:30 p.m.
Tuition: $50.00 (includes non-refundable $25 registration fee)

Come put on a show with us! In this unique camp designed for teens, we will stage, rehearse, build, costume and perform our summer musical, "The Butler Did It, Singing!" Book by Tim Kelly, Music by Arne Christiansen, Lyrics by Ole Kittleson and produced by special arrangement with Baker's Plays, Inc. In addition to working on music for the summer production and developing acting skills through improvisation exercises, this week-long intensive camp will focus primarily on creating commercials to advertise our summer production. Campers will brainstorm plots, write scripts, storyboard, rehearse and film their own commercials, which will air on local cable stations! The campers will continue to prepare the summer production throughout June and July during evening rehearsals. Performances will be held in Oberlin High School's Auditorium July 25-27 & August 1-3.

Campers are required to come to one of the auditions, which will be held sunday, May 11 from 1-3 & Monday, May 12 from 7-9 p.m. in the MAD* Factory Classroom, or by appointment. Students should dress comfortably and bring a sense of humor and all scheduling conflicts.

"The Butler Did It, Singing!" is a delightful, audience pleasing, musical spoof based on Mr. Kelly's enormously popular hit The Butler Did It. Miss Maple, a flaky society dowager, invites a pack of zany detective writers to a spooky house on an isolated island and forces them to impersonate their fictional sleuths. For entertainment, she arranges some "classic" touches — a hairy face at the window, the threat of an escaped lunatic, no communications with the outside world. What she did not arrange was the body on the sitting room carpet! It's up to seedy Chandler Marlowe to solve the bizarre case and he makes a side-splitting mess of it!
