Comedy improv is a great experience for actors and non-actors alike. Improv helps to build quick thinking, public speaking, trust and cooperation among peers, and most of all it’s fun! Students will focus on aspects of comedy improv such as character, plot, physical movement, trust, and more. The ground rules we follow lay a strong foundation for an easy understanding of improv, and the different games and exercises each week provide variety. No experience necessary to come and have an awesome and hilarious time every week.

Nina is originally from the Philadelphia area and has been living in Oberlin ever since graduating from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2008 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. She started at The MAD* Factory as a stage manager while still in college and has been the Program Director here for 11 years. Nina plays the piano and accompanies the choirs at Firelands and Lorain high schools.
Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Amber is a proud graduate of the Baldwin Wallace Musical Theatre Program, class of 2005. Amber has performed in numerous shows throughout Lorain County and beyond, and loves sharing her love of theatre with all the students that come through The MAD* Factory!
The MAD* Factory has funds available for need-based scholarships. If your child/children qualify for free meals program at your school, then they qualify for a full-tuition scholarship less a $50 registration fee for classes or a $125 registration fee for camp. So for example, your child qualifies for a scholarship and the class costs $100, then you pay $50 and recieve a $50 scholarship. To apply for a scholarship, please provide a photocopy of your most recent tax return which shows gross family income (just the first page). Partial scholarships for special circumstances will be considered (funds permitted) by the executive director.
