ADVANCED ACTING

Classes will be Thursdays, 6pm-8pm from April 30th through June 4th.

Final showcase will be Friday, June 5th at 2655 Broadway Avenue, Lorain.

Description:

6-week long course focusing on advanced acting techniques geared towards ages 13-18. Great for students interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of acting to take their performances to the next level. The class would end with a showcase of scenes where each student would get their chance to shine. The goals of the course are as follows:

• Learn about objectives and how to actively pursue them.

• Explore acting tactics and how to use them to pursue your character’s objective.

• Explore how conflicting character’s objectives build tension and conflict.

• Practice table work, exploring given circumstances, setting yourself up for success on stage.

• Learn how to score dialogue with actions and intentions.
