The Revolutionists is a new play about four very feral women who lived boldly in France during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. Playwright Olympic De Gouge, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen (and fan of ribbons) Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle hang out, murder Marat, loose their heads and try to beat back the extremist insanity in Paris of 1793. This grand dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots an d chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world.

You all have shown me how art should be made. It’s so special when gut/wrenching stories like this heal parts of you. Amber and Nina, thank you for believing in me. I love you all!”

Shelbey is glad to be back on the MAD stage again (to be on any stage really)! After a three year break from performing, she is ready to be back under the lights. You might recognize her from MAD productions like The Producers, Aida, Sweeney Todd, and Mamma Mia. Shelbey would like to thank everyone who made this show come together and you! (Yes, you!) Without patrons like yourself, community theater and youth programs are not possible. Thank you for your support!
